British Motor Museum Main Collection

The British Motor Museum contains the world’s largest collection of historic British vehicles. It was a really impressive museum and worth a visit if you’re ever in the UK. It is a nice combination of early vehicles, examples of popular British cars, concept cars and competition cars.

The museum is located in Warwick, near Birmingham, about an hour or so north of London on the M40.

One of the first cars you see is an 1897 Daimler, the oldest UK built example. It was used extensively in its heyday and is still in working condition. You can see its flame […]

2017 British Car Day

The annual British car display day at the Kings School is not be missed. Over 1500 classic British cars, trucks and commercial vehicles. The weather was lovely so the turnout was excellent. Last year, the show had to be postponed due to a sodden field.

Not only is the display quite a sight, but its one of the few times of the year you’ll sit in traffic behind a Jowett and have a Daimler behind you. One of the highlights was seeing a Bentley 6.5 liter in the Vintage Sports Car Club. I was hoping to see a Derby Bentley […]

The Flynn Collection

On the 18th and 19th of November the entire collection of the late Dr Flynn will be auctioned in Canberra. There are around 160 cars for sale, most of them rover P4, P5 or P6 models. These cars represent the Rover marque at its very best and provide examples of most of the models offered during that period. Sadly, it would appear that the cars were not well kept and even the best of them is only in fair condition and many of them are basically parts cars. As well as the Rovers, the auction catalogue also includes a couple […]

2015 Rolls Royce Owners Club Concours

I have always admired Rolls Royce and Bentley automobiles, and was impressed with the display at the British Car Show, so decided to go down and see the 2015 Rolls Royce Owners Club concours. The event was held at Linnwood House, which is a historic house located in Sydney’s western suburbs. The House has some very nice grounds that are perfect for holding a car show.

The show was worth the trip and despite early rain had a good showing of cars. As well as RROC, the Rover Club and the Daimler club had displays on, and was able […]
