The Gosford Car Museum Revisted

I first visited the Gosford Car Museum a bit over two years ago. Back in 2016, the Museum had recently opened. Since it operates as a hybrid dealership/museum, the collection slowly turns over. This means a return visit two years later provides a lot of new cars to see.

I would estimate that at least 50% of the collection has turned over since that visit. It is still a very impressive museum, although the collection is now 10-15% smaller. The great shed tour of 2016

As you go to car shows and car club events, you realize that there are many more big car collections out there than you would expect. Not just celebrities like Jay Leno, but people who live in the same city as you who have extensive and interesting car collections. Friends of mine think I am nuts owning 5 cars, but it is nothing compared to some of the collections out there.

The Mercedes Club organized a tour of 4 ‘sheds’ today, allowing club members to see some of the collections that normally remain behind closed doors.

The new Gosford Car Museum

The Gosford Car museum just opened, and Australia now has a classic car museum to rival some of the museums of the world. Having been to some great Museums around the world, this one certainly holds its own. I was able to accompany the RROC and explore the museum. Plenty of the cars on the drive up would have fit right into the collection.
